When Miles Morales first inherited the Spider-Man mantle in the Ultimate Marvel Universe, he borrowed his hero’s classic black-and-red suit to save the day. But after the Skrulls trashed a mall, Miles had to improvise to save the day and ended up wearing a hoodie and fabric mask—a look that’s now his signature style.
Now, he’s got a whole closet of unlockable costumes in his latest game, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which hits the PS4 this fall. It’s a new take on the character with a more street-level approach, and he has a lot of cool looks to wear while swinging around Harlem.
The first suit players can unlock is a nod to the Spider-Verse film, with a stylish cel-shaded look that gives Miles a cartoony design. This suit also has a cool feature that allows you to stun groups of enemies for a short time, which is very useful in a fight.
Next up is the Purple Reign suit from Miles’ climax battle in Into the Spider-Verse. It’s a metallic version of the normal suit, resembling Peter Parker’s armored Mk. I suit from the previous Spider-Man game, and it’s a cool looking outfit that could make for an impressive superhero costume in its own right.
Miles’ own comic book will be launching in September, and it will include stories written by many of the same people who wrote for the Into the Spider-Verse film and its sequel. In addition to regular Miles Morales writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Javier Garron, Into the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and Into the Spider-Verse co-director Kemp Powers will be writing a story for this new take on the webslinger.
